# Founder and current CIO shifts role in the company

Smoltek does not expect that Shafiq Kabir’s tran­si­tion to a new role will affect the company’s day-to-day busi­ness, as Smoltek has built a broad knowl­edge base around its tech­nol­o­gy plat­form from research and devel­op­ment to com­mer­cial­iza­tion and licensing.

The company’s CNF-MIM tech­nol­o­gy for capac­i­tors to the semi­con­duc­tor indus­try is cur­rent­ly being eval­u­at­ed by large poten­tial com­mer­cial part­ners, and the work relat­ed to fur­ther devel­op­ment, financ­ing, col­lab­o­ra­tion and licens­ing in new appli­ca­tion areas is con­duct­ed in the whol­ly-owned sub­sidiary Smoltek Inno­va­tion AB with assis­tance from the strate­gic advi­so­ry part­ner DC Advisory.

Both par­ties view this step as a nat­ur­al part of Smoltek’s devel­op­ment from being a pri­mar­i­ly inno­va­tion-dri­ven com­pa­ny to today’s pri­ma­ry focus on estab­lish­ing us as an inno­v­a­tive provider to the semi­con­duc­tor indus­try, while we at the same time broad­en the fur­ther devel­op­ment of our tech­nol­o­gy plat­form to new appli­ca­tion areas,” says Peter Augusts­son, chair­man of Smoltek Nan­otech Hold­ing AB.
