Smoltek has the intention to sign a global exclusive license and services agreement for discrete and embedded capacitors with YAGEO Group. This would grant YAGEO a global, exclusive right to manufacture and sell capacitor products based on Smoltek's patent protected technology platform for ultra-thin carbon nanofiber capacitors (CNF-MIM).
Advanced nano- and microelectronics are at the core of tomorrow’s hardware engineering. At Smoltek we are pioneering carbon nanotechnology that enables manufacturing of the next-generation solutions for the semiconductor industry. Currently the focus is on a new type of carbon nanofiber-based capacitor that fits in the extremely miniaturized packaging architectures being developed by chip manufacturers.
The Discrete CNF-MIM patent family is covering a method for manufacturing of discrete capacitor components based on our CNF-MIM technology. The innovation exploits the extra-ordinary surface to volume ratio provided by carbon nanofibers to create a MIM capacitor with unparalleled high capacitance density.
Smoltek is awarded yet another approved patent, the fourth this year. The patent is also the third in a patent family protecting solutions for interposers based on the CNF-MIM capacitor concept. This means that our patent portfolio now comprises 59 granted patents.
Smoltek keep growing its proprietary technology platform. In the beginning of May 2020 patent No. 58 was granted. The patent is connected to our helplayer family.
Smoltek keep growing its proprietary technology platform. In March 2020 the 57th patent was granted. This is a Pan-European patent which covers interconnects applications.
Smoltek announces that the company has signed an evaluation agreement with one of the world’s largest capacitor manufacturers. The agreement concerns a project with a license for evaluation of Smoltek’s patented carbon nanofiber-based CNF-MIM technology. The intention is to replace the evaluation agreement with a production license agreement as a next step. The order value for this first step amounts to approximately SEK 1 million.
Smoltek attended the international IEEE EDAPS conference for the first time come this last December. Besides presenting new and improved data for the CNF-MIM technology Vincent Desmaris also won the title ‘Best Oral Paper Award’.
Smoltek is awarded a new patent. This Korean patent is the second of a patent family in the direction of CNF-MIM based compact energy storage interposers. This means that our patent portfolio now comprises 56 granted patents.
Smoltek has presented new and improved electrical data for CNF-MIM at EDAPS in Taiwan. The focal point has been on lowering the ESR value that we presented in September.
The EDAPS conference in Kaohsiung Taiwan, December 16-19 will be an excellent forum to highlight the latest advances for our CNF-MIM capacitor technology concept.
Smoltek will be part of a Swedish business delegation going to Seoul, South Korea in December. This gives us the opportunity to connect and have a sit down with Korean semiconductor giants.
