Smoltek is awarded yet another approved patent, the fourth this year. The patent is also the third in a patent family protecting solutions for interposers based on the CNF-MIM capacitor concept. This means that our patent portfolio now comprises 59 granted patents.
Smoltek keep growing its proprietary technology platform. In the beginning of May 2020 patent No. 58 was granted. The patent is connected to our helplayer family.
Smoltek keep growing its proprietary technology platform. In March 2020 the 57th patent was granted. This is a Pan-European patent which covers interconnects applications.
Smoltek announces that the company has signed an evaluation agreement with one of the world’s largest capacitor manufacturers. The agreement concerns a project with a license for evaluation of Smoltek’s patented carbon nanofiber-based CNF-MIM technology. The intention is to replace the evaluation agreement with a production license agreement as a next step. The order value for this first step amounts to approximately SEK 1 million.
Smoltek attended the international IEEE EDAPS conference for the first time come this last December. Besides presenting new and improved data for the CNF-MIM technology Vincent Desmaris also won the title ‘Best Oral Paper Award’.
Smoltek is awarded a new patent. This Korean patent is the second of a patent family in the direction of CNF-MIM based compact energy storage interposers. This means that our patent portfolio now comprises 56 granted patents.
Smoltek has presented new and improved electrical data for CNF-MIM at EDAPS in Taiwan. The focal point has been on lowering the ESR value that we presented in September.
The EDAPS conference in Kaohsiung Taiwan, December 16–19 will be an excellent forum to highlight the latest advances for our CNF-MIM capacitor technology concept.
Smoltek will be part of a Swedish business delegation going to Seoul, South Korea in December. This gives us the opportunity to connect and have a sit down with Korean semiconductor giants.
Smoltek is awarded a new patent. This US patent is the first of a patent family in the direction of CNF-MIM capacitor applications on interposers. This brings our IP portfolio now to consists of 54 granted patents.
A year ago, the capacitance density for the CNF-MIM capacitor technology was at 200 nF/mm^2. In May this year it had risen to 350. And now we nearly have doubled that to +650 nF/mm^2!
Karl Lundahl is taking on the new position as Vice President Product Management at Smoltek, with start this fall. Karl has a long track record within the semiconductor, photovoltaic and electronic industries. In particular, Karl is bringing extensive experience in the field of advanced semiconductor packaging.
The invention: An interposer device comprising a first conductor pattern on a first side defining a portion of the interposer device to be covered by a first electrical circuit element; and a second conductor pattern on a second side to be connected to a second electrical circuit element. The second conductor pattern is electrically coupled to the first conductor pattern. The interposer device further comprises a plurality of nanostructure energy storage devices arranged within the portion of the interposer device to be covered by the first electrical circuit element. Each of the nanostructure energy storage devices comprises at least a first plurality of conductive nanostructures; a conduction controlling material embedding the nanostructures; a first electrode connected to each nanostructure in the first plurality of nanostructures; and a second electrode separated from each nanostructure in the first plurality of nanostructures by the conduction controlling material.
