Electrode Conformal Coating

The Inno­va­tion: an elec­trode for water elec­trolyz­ers com­pris­ing an elec­tro­cat­a­lyst lay­er, which in turn com­pris­es a plu­ral­i­ty of elon­gat­ed nanos­truc­tures on a PTL (porous trans­port lay­er). The elon­gat­ed nanos­truc­tures are coat­ed with a con­for­mal pro­tec­tive lay­er and a cat­a­lyst lay­er arranged on top of the that. This cat­a­lyst lay­er is in turn con­for­mal­ly coat­ed with nanopar­ti­cles and serve all togeth­er as a cat­a­lyst sup­port, enabling a more effi­cient use of cat­a­lyst mate­ri­als pro­vid­ing both high cat­alyt­ic activ­i­ty and addi­tion­al cor­ro­sion protection.
