Smoltek’s business model and IP strategy for the company’s extensive patent portfolio have shifted over the years – from scientific curiosity in the beginning into solving advanced industry needs today. In this video, published in November 2020, Dr Shafiq Kabir, Co-founder and former Chief Innovation Officer (CIO) explains how the IP-strategy has transformed as the company has evolved.
Smoltek holds unique world patents for technologies that make material engineering on an atomic level possible. Smoltek has solutions that allow continued miniaturization and increased performance of semiconductors, contribute to carbon-free steel production and renewable energy storage, and enable mind control of robotic prostheses. This is a story of how Smoltek came to be.
A main goal for Smoltek Semi is to develop an industrial process for mass production of discrete CNF-MIM capacitors at contract manufacturers (foundry), including a specially designed machine for large-scale production of carbon nanofibers.
Smoltek and the subsidiary Smoltek Semi has extended its evaluation license agreement with a global manufacturer of passive components. The parties will also define and agree upon the terms of a Memorandum of Understanding for the joint development of an industrial mass-production process for Smoltek’s ultra-thin carbon nanofiber capacitors.
Smoltek reveals groundbreaking capacitance enhancement of its CNF-MIM™ solid state capacitor technology. This supports higher performance and continued miniaturization of semiconductor components “beyond Moore”.
IMAPS Device Packaging Conference 2020 in Phoenix, Arizona gathered some of the very top semiconductor companies in the world for sharing the latest knowledge of the needs for future technologies. Like ‘How thin can we go?’.
Karl Lundahl is taking on the new position as Vice President Product Management at Smoltek, with start this fall. Karl has a long track record within the semiconductor, photovoltaic and electronic industries. In particular, Karl is bringing extensive experience in the field of advanced semiconductor packaging.
The group company Smoltek Innovation has signed a collaboration agreement with a large international manufacturer of material for electrolyzers. The collaboration agreement includes the development of demonstrators based on Smoltek's highly efficient nanofiber-based cell material for PEM electrolyzers.
Håkan Persson, with many years of experience from leading and developing listed technology companies, will take over as CEO of Smoltek. He will join the company no later than October 15, maybe sooner. In anticipation of his accession, we have had a short Q&A with him.
