Hydrogen feeds the world
FerÂtilÂizÂer proÂducÂtion requires large amounts of hydroÂgen. Today, 95 perÂcent of this hydroÂgen is proÂduced from fosÂsil fuels, leadÂing to colosÂsal greenÂhouse gas emisÂsions of COâ‚‚. To save the Earth from more than 2 °C of globÂal warmÂing, politiÂcians are using ecoÂnomÂic incenÂtives to get the ferÂtilÂizÂer indusÂtry to switch from fosÂsil hydroÂgen to clean hydroÂgen proÂduced by elecÂtrolyzÂers. This makes the ferÂtilÂizÂer indusÂtry one of the largest marÂkets for elecÂtrolyzÂers. In this blog post, we take a closÂer look at this litÂtle-known marÂket, which, givÂen its size, is more interÂestÂing than many of the more well-known ones.

Smoltek Hydrogen is verifying its technology for high-volume manufacturing
Smoltek HydroÂgen has placed an order for the design and engiÂneerÂing of a ProÂtoÂtype Coater for indusÂtriÂal growth of carÂbon nanosÂtrucÂtures. The purÂpose is to verÂiÂfy that the nanosÂtrucÂtures can be grown using the equipÂment from AGC PlasÂma TechÂnolÂoÂgy SoluÂtions that has been selectÂed for future mass proÂducÂtion – a PlasÂma Enhanced ChemÂiÂcal Vapor DepoÂsiÂtion (PECVD) tool that can be conÂfigÂured for subÂstrates of sevÂerÂal square meters.

Smoltek is awardÂed a new patent. This patent is also the first one in a new patent famÂiÂly called ElecÂtro CatÂaÂlyst HeatÂing, which disÂclosÂes a way of facilÂiÂtatÂing endotherÂmic elecÂtroÂcatÂalytÂic reacÂtions by adding heat in the catÂalytÂic strucÂture in the elecÂtrolyzÂer cell. This patent also brings our IP portÂfoÂlio to comÂprise 83 grantÂed patents.
