Smoltek is awarded a new patent. This new patent has been granted in Taiwan, and is relating to the patent family in the direction of CNF-MIM capacitor applications on interposers. This also brings our patent portfolio to now comprise 72 granted patents.
The patent, recentÂly grantÂed in TaiÂwan, belongs to a patent famÂiÂly that covÂers the company’s CNF-MIM capacÂiÂtors techÂnolÂoÂgy and varÂiÂous use casÂes for the same, priÂmarÂiÂly in the field of interÂposers for advanced packÂagÂing and hetÂerogeÂnous inteÂgraÂtion of semiconductors.
The invenÂtion as such facilÂiÂtates inteÂgraÂtion of extremeÂly thin solÂid-state devices, such as CNF-MIM capacÂiÂtors, where the main advanÂtage is that the enerÂgy storÂing devices can be placed closÂer to the interÂconÂnecÂtion points and powÂer rails of the active chip, thus enabling more effiÂcient powÂer manÂageÂment soluÂtions for the whole circuit.
MiniaÂturÂized or comÂpact enerÂgy storÂage devices, e.g. capacÂiÂtors, are in high demand in the field of today’s advanced packÂagÂing archiÂtecÂtures for inteÂgratÂed cirÂcuits, for examÂple comÂmonÂly used for microÂprocesÂsors and othÂer hetÂeroÂgeÂneousÂly inteÂgratÂed semiconductors.
Smoltek’s patent proÂtectÂed techÂnolÂoÂgy around interÂposers are built on the need to improve cirÂcuit perÂforÂmance by enabling smarter, comÂpact enerÂgy storÂage devices which in turn can enable more effiÂcient powÂer manÂageÂment solutions.
Smoltek’s patent portÂfoÂlio now globÂalÂly comÂprisÂes 72 grantÂed patents. Read more about our IP and patents.
