Zooming into Semicon West with Smoltek

Watch Françoise von Trapp (3D InCites) interview with CRO & COO, Ola Tiverman from this year’s virtual SEMICON West.

3D InCites is an online media resource focusing on 3D integration and heterogeneous integration. As a community, 3D InCites brings to life the people, the personalities, and the minds behind heterogeneous integration and related technologies in a uniquely personal way. The goal is to inform key decision-makers about progress in technology development, design, standards, infrastructure, and implementation.

The interview was made over Zoom and got our CRO & COO, Ola Tiverman to get into the 3DInCites virtual booth at this year’s SEMICON West. Thank’s for the invitation!

Operational update on the activities in Smoltek Semi

A main goal for Smoltek Semi is to develop an industrial process for mass production of discrete CNF-MIM capacitors at contract manufacturers (foundry), including a specially designed machine for large-scale production of carbon nanofibers.

Miniaturized capacitors with carbon nanofibers

Smoltek has developed the world’s thinnest discrete capacitor. Its total building height is less than thirty micrometers (30 µm). You have to stack ten of them on top of each other to reach the same height as today’s industry-standard when it comes to surface-mounted capacitors. The capacitor itself, without encapsulation, is a mere 0.5 to 10 µm. It...

Smoltek initiates MoU-negotiations for joint development of ultra-thin capacitors

Smoltek and the subsidiary Smoltek Semi has extended its evaluation license agreement with a global manufacturer of passive components. The parties will also define and agree upon the terms of a Memorandum of Understanding for the joint development of an industrial mass-production process for Smoltek’s ultra-thin carbon nanofiber capacitors.

A new position and a new face at Smoltek

Karl Lundahl is taking on the new position as Vice President Product Management at Smoltek, with start this fall. Karl has a long track record within the semiconductor, photovoltaic and electronic industries. In particular, Karl is bringing extensive experience in the field of advanced semiconductor packaging.

Breaking barriers: The future

This is the third and last article in a series of three in which Smoltek founder and strategic advisor Shafiq Kabir share his personal thoughts on nanotechnology opportunities. In the previous two articles, he has addressed both the hype and the reality of carbon nanotechnology. In this last article, he looks into the future. He discusses how carbon nanotechnology will unleash the power of the internet of everything.
