Industrial Standard in Thermal and Voltage Stability in CNF-MIM Capacitor Technology
Smoltek Semi has cleared a significant milestone in the development of next-generation CNF-MIM capacitors. Samples from the latest prototype generation, fabricated with an advanced dielectric stack composed of zirconium oxide (ZrO₂) and aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃) have demonstrated exceptional stability under both temperature and voltage stress.

Smoltek recruits Farzan Ghavanini as new CTO
Smoltek has recruited Farzan Ghavanini as new Chief Technology Officer (CTO), who will assume the position on April 1 2022. He will then succeed Peter Enoksson, who has been acting CTO for Smoltek since 20 September 2021.

License agreement for evaluation of CNF-MIM technology extended
The evaluation license agreement that Smoltek signed in April 2020 with a global manufacturer of electronic components has been extended further. The work within this project is carried out by the subsidiary Smoltek Semi, whose main objective is to develop and license the manufacture of ultra-thin capacitors based on Smoltek’s patent-protected carbon nanofiber technology.

Smoltek has yet another patent granted. This time in Taiwan. The patent is related to the Assembly platform patent family in the direction of interconnects. This also makes our patent portfolio to now comprise 70 granted patents.

Advances in our technology for new cell material for electrolyzers
Smoltek has achieved proof-of-concept for high-performing, nanofiber-based cell material for PEM-electrolyzers. In our laboratory we have demonstrated that the cell material fulfills several important performance and durability requirements, including very low contact resistance, which potential industrial partners have stated that they want to test before a collaboration regarding the continued development can be initiated.
